    The Department of Earth System Science at Tsinghua University invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level. We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests are focused on the ecology of migrating birds and their habitats. We also welcome candidates who have extensive experience in long-term monitoring for conservation purposes.

    Successful candidates will be expected to lead a strong, extramurally-funded research program and contribute to teaching and service.

    Minimum qualification
    Basic qualifications for applicants include completion of PhD work in a well-established program at the time of application. Preference will be given to candidates who are comfortable working with large datasets (e.g., remotely sensed data, monitoring data) in their works.

    About the department
    Department of Earth System Science was established in 2016 at Tsinghua University to conduct interdisciplinary studies and researches on the global environmental change and sustainable development. Faculty in the department have access to a wide range of platforms managed by the department, including the fastest supercomputer in China (the fourth in the world), the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory for Earth System Modeling, and the Ministry of Education Field Research Station for East Asian Migratory Birds and Their Habitats.
