The Department of Biological Sciences at Louisiana State University (LSU) invites applications for a tenure track position as Curator of Birds at the level of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a vigorous extramurally funded research program on birds, contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching, collect bird specimens, curate the Museum’s bird collection, and participate in extracurricular activities in Biological Sciences and the Museum.
Job Duties:
- Develop and maintain an independent and vigorous research program in the area of Ornithology
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate level courses in a biological sciences discipline and direct/supervise graduate students.
- Curate bird collection in the LSU Museum of Natural Sciences.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D., A successful record of independent research in bird biology, and a strong background in building, managing, and using bird research collections.
Preferred Qualifications: Postdoctoral Experience
