    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay seeks applicants at the Green Bay campus for the Director of the Cofrin Center for Biodiversity, which has a 12-month annual appointment and reports to the Dean of the College of Science, Engineering, and Technology. The Cofrin Center for Biodiversity was established in 1999 and has a long history of success, with the duties of the Director position including the following:

    • Provide leadership and vision for the Cofrin Center for Biodiversity in coordination with the overall vision and strategic goals of the university
    • Provide supervision for three professional staff members and two faculty curators
    • Oversee the management of five university owned natural areas and two scientific collections
    • Manage a budget that includes funding from both university and private sources
    • Collaborate with faculty and staff in Natural and Applied Sciences on teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, including the use of the UW-Green Bay scientific collections and the natural areas as outdoor classrooms
    • Manage and support efforts with faculty, staff, and community partners on research projects that involve the conservation and ecology of western Great Lakes flora and fauna and enlist 20+ undergraduate and graduate students annually
    • Cultivate effective public relations and outreach efforts with faculty, staff, and community partners
    • Work effectively with University Advancement on community engagement and fundraising activities
    • Perform institutional service and contribute to the ongoing programmatic development within the College of Science, Engineering, and Technology and Natural and Applied Sciences

    In addition, the candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence in leadership, a commitment to undergraduate and graduate education, and communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with a diverse array of partners.
