Chris Merkord Posted October 12, 2011 Share Posted October 12, 2011 MARY ANNE CLENCH, member the AOU since 1953, Elective member since 1963 and Fellow since 1976, member of the AFO since 1983, the COS since 1960, and WOS since 1955, passed away in Gainesville, FL on 27 June 2011. She served as president of Wilson Ornithological Society and on the board of directors of National Audubon Society. Her career included positions as Assistant Curator of Birds at Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh and the University of Florida and research associate in Charlottesville, VA and Galveston, TX. She traveled the world doing bird research and some of her happiest days were at Powdermill Nature Reserve in PA and in the Bahamas with her beloved husband Harry.
