Chris Merkord
I am writing to invite you to the 2011 annual meeting of the American Ornithologist's Union to be held in Jacksonville, Florida 24 - 29 July 2011. Jacksonville is easy to get to by air, rail and car, and we're staying in a four star hotel right on the river in downtown Jacksonville. The Circular of Information (PDF) gives you detailed information about the meeting. We'll have much more information on the meeting website. Jacksonville offers great music, famous seafood, and miles of some of the best beaches in the hemisphere. We've worked hard to keep the room and registration costs reasonable, and with many direct flights to Jacksonville, this should not be an expensive meeting. We are planning a full scientific program and social schedule, including poster and paper sessions, plenary talks and symposia, the Ostrich Uproar 5k run, canoe races on the river, benefit auction, Quiz bowl, and much more. Students, please note the opportunities for travel and presentation awards. Please come join us in July! Sincerely, Peter Frederick Chair, Local Committee Department of Wildlife Ecology and Conservation P.O.
