The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has released a final rule, making administrative changes to the regulations implementing the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. The rule renumbers various sections, corrects cross-references, and makes minor edits to correct misspellings, update links, etc.

The changes being made are not substantive and do not affect which species are covered by the regulations or how you obtain permits under the regulations. Those who regularly refer to or cite the regulations in 50 CFR Parts 21 and 22 should familiarize themselves with the reorganized regulations. Find a chart of the changes in the Federal Register Notice.

The rule will go into effect on February 7.
