Renew Your Membership Now at  the “EARLY BIRD” Rate!

Renew at the 2017 rates by this midnight this FRIDAY, 17 November.

The AOS looks forward to serving you in 2018 as your home professional society.  This year AOS offers two new membership options: Contributing memberships and a Gift memberships. We’ve also modified the student membership category to include members who are between graduate programs. Early Professional, Retired/Emeritus, and Special Country discounted rates will be offered as are Life, Regular and Family memberships.  

Visit the  OSNA Membership Portal to renew, update your profile information and selections, and purchase gift memberships in the Portal’s Online Store.

2018 Nominations are Due for ALL AOS 2018 Professional Awards on Monday, 20 November.


The AOS depends upon our community to help create an excellent pool of candidates for consideration for our annual senior professional and early professional awards.  In 2018, the AOS will confer four senior achievement awards, three early professional achievement awards, one or two publications awards, and two service awards.


AOS enthusiastically encourages nominations of candidates from all sectors (nonprofit, government, academia, etc) and from traditionally underrepresented groups within our field, including women and minorities.  Your participation in the nomination process ensures the pool of candidates represents the breadth and diversity of all professionals in ornithology.


Are you an early professionals within 7 years of receiving your final degree?  We strongly encourage you to compete for the AOS early professional awards.

Registration for the American Ornithology 2018 Meeting in Tucson Opening Soon


Registration and abstract submissions for the 2018 Annual Meeting in Tucson, AZ 9-14 April will be opening in early December.  Please note that you must have a 2018 AOS membership at the time of registration to receive the reduced member rate. Save even more by renewing your AOS membership before the November 17 early bird renewal deadline. The 2018 meeting website lists important dates and information for the upcoming event.  More soon on the 2018 Student and Postdoctoral Travel Awards.
