Cara J
The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency plans to take the next step in determining why the turkey population in southern Middle Tennessee is declining. The state agency will collect tissues from turkeys brought in by hunters when the statewide hunting season starts in early April, and test them for diseases. This will be the second round of testing, which is part of a two-year study with the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tennessee. Tissues studied last year showed no presence of disease. Read more about it in The Tennessean.
