Fern Davies Posted June 16, 2014 Share Posted June 16, 2014 NABC Bander and Trainer Certification SessionInland Bird Banding Association (IBBA) Annual MeetingAugust 10 - 12, 2014Regina, Saskatchewan, CanadaThe North American Banding Council (NABC) will be holding a CertificationSession for 'Trainer' (3) and 'Bander' (5) landbird levels in conjunctionwith the IBBA Annual Meeting. Participants should have substantialexperience operating mistnets, identifying and banding passerines andnear-passerines in the hand, and in depth applied knowledge of advancedsexing and ageing techniques.Participants are encouraged to visit NABC's website for more information onthe evaluation process, including reviewing Expectations for Candidates atTrainer and Bander-level certification sessions. The written andspecimen examswill be administered as part of the certification session; candidates neednot take them prior to arrival.Participants will also be responsible for covering personal costs(i.e.,accommodation and food) during the evaluation. Applicants shouldinclude a CV detailing past experiences banding landbirds and extractingbirds from mistnets, including approximate numbers of birds handled.
