NABC Bander and Trainer Certification Session
Inland Bird Banding Association (IBBA) Annual Meeting

August 10 - 12, 2014
Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada

The North American Banding Council (NABC) will be holding a Certification
Session for 'Trainer' (3) and 'Bander' (5) landbird levels in conjunction
with the IBBA Annual Meeting. Participants should have substantial
experience operating mistnets, identifying and banding passerines and
near-passerines in the hand, and in depth applied knowledge of advanced
sexing and ageing techniques.

Participants are encouraged to visit NABC's website for more information on
the evaluation process, including reviewing Expectations for Candidates at
Trainer and Bander-level certification sessions. Information can be found
at: http://www.nabanding.net/certification-process/. The written and
specimen exams
will be administered as part of the certification session; candidates need
not take them prior to arrival.

Participants will also be responsible for covering personal costs
(i.e.,accommodation and food) during the evaluation. Applicants should
include a CV detailing past experiences banding landbirds and extracting
birds from mistnets, including approximate numbers of birds handled. Those
interested in
participating must state their interest by July 25th.

Cost: $35/level (first come, first serve)
Sunday 8/10 - 3:00 - 8:30 pm
Monday 8/11 - 5:30 am - 8:00 pm
Tuesday 8/12 - 5:30 am - 4:00 pm
Wednesday8/13 - 5:30 am - 10:00 am (if required).
