Auk:Ornithological Advances and The Condor:Ornithological Applications now publishing

Recommended Posts

On January 2, 2014, the first weekly articles appeared in The Auk: Ornithological Advances and The Condor: Ornithological Applications on the journals' new website: www.aoucospubs.org. The journal website features new research articles and issues from 2008 to present. Articles on the different aspects of ornithological research and avian biology are published each Wednesday.

As a society member, you have an account on the website that you must activate to view the content published in your society's journal, including new articles published each week and all quarterly issues since 2008 (note that the full text of articles from the last two years is accessible only to each journal's society members).

Complete Your Website Registration
On Thursday, January 2, emails with the subject line AOU & COS Publications Online Access were sent from onlinepublishing@allenpress.com to all AOU and COS members who did not have accounts at Allen Press. If you received the email, please be sure to follow the link and register your account, and you will have access to the content in the journals of the societies that you belong to: Auk for AOU members and Condor for COS members. Once you register, you can log in with your email address and password from then on.

If you did not receive an email on Thursday, January 2, it may be because you already are registered for another journal on the Allen Press platform–such as Wilson Journal of Ornithology, Avian Diseases, or Journal of Mammalogy. If you already have an account in the Allen Press system, you need to sign in on the www.aoucospubs.org website to activate your account for Auk and/or Condor. Click the Log In link in the upper right corner of the home page, enter your email address and password, and you will have access to the content for the journals of the societies that you belong to: Auk for AOU members and Condor for COS members.

If you do not remember your password, click the Log In link, then choose “Forgotten your password?”. Enter your email address and click Reset Password. Doing so will generate an email to you with a link to the website where you can reset your password. To log in to the site in the future, you will use your e-mail address and password.

In addition to access to the full text of articles on the new journal website, the benefits of activating your account also include the ability to save searches, to create lists of favorite articles, and to be alerted when specific articles are cited. You will be able to find tips on how to navigate the website and take advantage of its enhanced functionality on the "Access the Journals" page of the website, which you get to by pointing your cursor to "Access Guide" on the navigation bar. Members also have access to current and past articles on BioOne. In 2014, new articles will not be posted on JSTOR.

We hope that you are excited as we are for the launch of the new journal website and the results of a multi-year process to redefine the content in The Auk: Ornithological Advances and The Condor: Ornithological Applications.
