Participants should have some previous exposure to or experience with bird banding, although we will review safe bird handling and mist-net extraction techniques. The workshop will provide detailed training and expert guidance in aging rails and songbirds, including how to use molt limits, feather and plumage cues, soft-part colors, and skull pneumatization techniques. Registration will be open until 18 October 2013, or until 20 participants are registered. Please register using the website link provided above. Qualifications: Fees: $100 Fees include training and materials. Fees do not include lodging, food, or transportation. Proceeds will be used to support Yellow Rail research.
