The James G. Cooper Young Professional Award, named in honor of the former COS, recognizes early-career ornithological researchers for their outstanding contributions in any field of ornithology. It consists of a framed certificate, $1000 honorarium, travel stipend to attend the annual meeting, and a private social at the meeting for Young Professional awardees.
