Agency Nevada Department of Wildlife Location Nevada, statewide Job Category Temporary/Seasonal Positions Salary $15.00 per hour plus per diem Start Date 03/15/2018 Last Date to Apply 02/13/2018 Description Job will include conducting common raven point count surveys, common raven captures, and mountain lion kill site searches. Duties will include: • Working and collaborating with USGS, university, NGO, and Nevada Department of Wildlife Employees • Driving manual and four-wheel drive vehicles • Camping in remote locations • Collecting data and keeping neat, accurate records • Using GPS units and maps to navigate rough terrain by foot and vehicle • Hiking up to 10 miles in a day • Working non-standard work hours (e.g., before sunrise and after sunset) Qualifications The successful applicant will be based out of Reno, Nevada. The successful applicant will travel and camp for the majority of their workweek. The successful applicant is responsible for lodging during their off days. Desired qualifications include: • B.S. degree in science field • Experience working in remote conditions • Ability to carry and lift 40 pounds • Comfortable working in harsh environments including extreme hot and cold temperatures • Possess a valid driver’s license • Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle Contact Person Pat Jackson Contact Phone 7756881676 Contact eMail pjackson@ndow.org
