Two bird banding interns are needed to assist with fall season migration monitoring at the Koffler Scientific Reserve, in King township, Ontario. A University of Toronto biological reserve and field research centre, KSR is located on the Oak Ridges Moraine, in a rolling rural and forested landscape. The intern will work 6 days per week, assisting the Bander-in-charge with all aspects of the bird banding operation. Banding begins before sunrise with a standard work day of 7-8 hours.
Some experience with mist-netting is desirable, the more the better. The internship will provide invaluable experience and training for someone working towards obtaining a banding permit, and/ or NABC certification.
While the internship is unpaid, on-site housing will be provided at no cost to a recruit from outside the local area.
E-mail a letter of interest, including details of previous banding, mist-netting, bird identification experience, and reasons why you would like to fulfill this intership to: email@example.com
