    We are seeking a Field Technician to assist in conducting Mexican Spotted Owl studies located in the Tonto National Forest, AZ. This is a temporary, hourly position. Primary field duties will include conducting standardized broadcast surveys, follow up surveys, nest searching and data entry.

    Qualifications:  A minimum of one field season of avian research; ability to work closely with other biologists; have full hearing and color vision; ability to hike long distances in rugged terrain; current eligibility to work in the U.S; a valid driver’s license and have own 4WD vehicle. Skills and Experience: Certified Mexican Spotted Owl USFWS survey and nest monitoring, and the required 40 hours experience with Mexican Owl surveys and nest monitoring.
