    Postdoctoral Associate Position in  Stable Isotope Ecology of Saltmarsh Food Webs at Louisiana State University
    Job Summary: This position will focus on the analysis of bulk tissue and compound-specific stable isotope measurements of amino acids to help understand the ecological effects of multiple stressors and subsequent  restoration practices on the trophic structure and flow of energy through coastal saltmarsh food webs across a wide range of taxa (e.g. plants, inverts, fish, birds, etc.). This position will include both laboratory and field work as part of a large, interdisciplinary consortium of researchers studying coastal environments in the Northern Gulf of Mexico.
     
    Qualifications: Ph.D. in related field. ABD will be considered but should have a PhD by start date. A track record of developing and executing independent, hypothesis-driven research in the lab and field, publishing associated manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, and contributing to research proposal submissions. Prior experience processing, analyzing, and synthesizing bulk tissue and compound-specific stable isotope measurements of amino acids in plant, animal, soil, and particulate samples will be given high priority. Experience operating small boats and conducting field work estuarine systems is also desirable.
