appeared with Stan Temple of the University of Wisconsin, whose study of the impact of free-ranging cats was one of the first to quantify the extent of the population impact of these non-native predators on native wildlife.

Temple and Curry discussed the recent paper by Scott Loss, Pete Marra, and Tom Will that estimated the extent of avian mortality due to predation by free-ranging cats as 1.4–3.7 billion.
