PhysOrg Posted November 27, 2017 Share Posted November 27, 2017 An international group of researchers led by the University of Granada (UGR) has proven that the greater flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus) facilitates microbial filtering of organic matter in saline wetlands, thus improving water quality and reducing nitrogen loads by promoting denitrification.
