The first of its kind, this 5-day (2-6 October 2017) introductory level field course is designed to instruct students in a full-range of the latest field techniques used in the study of raptors. During the course you will receive “hands-on” learning experiences with raptor: trapping methods, handling, banding, measurements, blood sampling, broadcast call surveys, telemetry and more.
The workshop is offered every June with an emphasis on learning breeding season field techniques and in October, with an emphasis on migration and winter research techniques. Participate directly in real research projects, allowing significant hands-on time with some of Wisconsin’s finest raptors. The small class size of 6-8 students, allows for individualized instruction time throughout the course. Cost is $525.
