Noise...birds...forest plant composition

It goes like this...the forest is noisy...it seems to bother the jays, which leave the area, but not the hummingbirds, which hang around. When the jays go, the dispersal of pinyon seeds decreases. Mice move in and eat the pinyon seeds. Meanwhile, the hummingbirds, avoiding the jays, spend more time in the noisy areas pollinating flowers. Result - fewer pinyon pines, more flowers in the noisy areas.
