Huyck Research Grants support work in basic and appliedecology, conservation biology, taxonomy, animal behavior, evolution,geology, land use history, and other areas of natural science. Typicalgrant awards are for $2000, but can be as much as $3500 for projectsthat involve extended residencies. Applications for the 2016 HuyckResearch Grant program are due Friday, March 11. This 8-weekinternship pairs students with the Preserve’s Summer Research Fellow,Dr. Jerad Mellard, for original field-based research. Students typicallyengage in a small independent projects and are expected to collect andanalyze data and to present their results at the Preserve’s AnnualScience Symposium. This is an unpaid internship though housing isprovided. Applications for the 2016 Odum Internship are due Friday,March 11.
