AFO Afield Newsletter, March 2015

Recommended Posts

The Association of Field Ornithologists (AFO) is pleased to announce that the most recent issue of their biannual newsletter, AFO Afield is now available for download. AFO President, Reed Bowman, and newly appointed newsletter editor, Jen Smith have been working together with newsletter designer Anne Marie Johnson to provide readers with a variety of exciting articles and updates from recent AFO events.  In particular, we are excited to include an interview with the AFO’s new webmaster, Matt Shumar in which Matt showcases the AFO’s new and interactive website. There is also information about our new partnership with the Biodiversity Research Institute for our bird banding supply business, now rechristened, Avian Research Supplies. There is an article highlighting AFO’s partner, the North American Banding Council, and their efforts to train banders and banding trainers in Latin America. There is a summary of the 2014 joint AFO/WOS meeting at Salve Regina University, Rhode Island and details for the upcoming joint meeting of the AFO/WOS/SCO that will be held at Acadia University, Nova Scotia from July 16-18, 2015. The meeting promises to be great and we look forward to seeing you there!
