Chris Merkord Posted July 12, 2013 Share Posted July 12, 2013 Lesser prairie chicken (Tympanuchus pallidicinctus) (Credit: USFWS) On July 9, 2013, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced a six month extension of the final determination on whether to list the lesser prairie chicken (Tympanuchus pallidicinctus) as a threatened species, and reopened the comment period for 30 days. Comments will now be accepted until August 8, 2013, and may be submitted electronically (Docket Number: FWS-R2-ES-2012-0071, click on “Comment Now!” to submit your comment), or mailed to: Attn: FWS-R2-ES-2012-0071, Division of Policy and Directives Management, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, 4401 N.
